Why you should be using aloe vera on your skin

There is a lot to be said for aloe vera, some like to call it a miracle ingredient. Aside from that, it is also known for its many benefits when being used on its own.  Aloe vera can help treat, sunburn, dry skin, cuts, cold sores, eczema, psoriasis and inflammatory acne.

Aloe vera doesn't just feel good, it is also a nutrient-packed skincare ingredient. This miracle ingredient will help the skin become clearer for longer. Here are some of the main reasons why we choose to include aloe vera in Poko's skincare products.

Aloe vera for skin

The aloe vera plant is composed of three main parts: the green leaf, the gel and the juice held within the leaf. We have used different variations of aloe vera in each of our products, for different reasons.

Aloe vera is rich in vitamins

It is a rich source of essential vitamins B, C, and E which are beneficial for skin health, as well as enzymes and antioxidants for protecting the skin against pollutants.

Aloe vera juice is excellent for keeping the skin hydrated, which can help to reduce the frequency of breakouts and keep dry skin quenched.

Aloe vera soothes inflammation

Aloe vera has antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties, it can help soothe spot-causing bacteria. It prevents a bacteria build-up which is the main cause of breakouts, and it can also help speed up the healing process.

By applying aloe vera to the target area it may help to remove scarring or blemishes.

Poko and aloe vera

We were already big aloe vera fans however we have become more obsessed with it if that's even possible. We have five core products and we have included aloe vera in four of them.

The only one of our products that does not contain aloe vera is Poko's Luxury Facial Oil. This oil is infused with rich botanicals oils, to help with dryness and dull skin.

Aloe vera for skin: It is packed full of powerful antioxidants to fight the effects of UV damage, such as fine lines and hyperpigmentation. As it is made up of 99.5% water, aloe vera juice is intensely hydrating to quench dry and dehydrated skin. Thanks to its anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties, aloe vera can also be particularly effective at calming acne flare-ups.

Our products

Regenerating Collagen Moisturiser

Our rich creamy moisturiser contains aloe vera juice. Poko's Regenerating Collagen Moisturiser targets skin concerns such as anti-ageing and dryness.  The aloe vera is packed with powerful antioxidants to fight the effects of UV damage, such as fine lines, tired skin and hyperpigmentation. Poko Regenerating Collagen Moisturiser

Soothing Serum

Our lightweight serum is enriched with aloe vera powder among many other reputable ingredients, including tea tree oil. The powder is obtained when the gel is rinsed to remove remnants of the juice, dehydrated and then ground into a fine powder. This makes the powder very concentrated.  Only a small amount of powder is needed to make a big impact.

Poko's Soothing Serum is designed specifically for spot-causing bacteria, and we wanted the right ingredients to make a big impact.

Correcting Eye Cream

Poko's Correcting Eye Cream is enriched with aloe vera juice. This ingredient together with avocado oil will help to hydrate the delicate skin underneath the eyes while reducing puffiness.

When creating Poko, choosing our ingredients was one of the most important steps. We wanted to use ingredients with positive reputations and that would help improve the appearance and texture of the skin.
